Self-deception
"The first and worst of all frauds is to cheat one's self."
-- Phillip James Bailey
Are you hiding in some way from your own inner light?
I wouldn’t dream of stealing things but I do steal from my own potential. I can be a master at rationalizing, at justifying why it’s not the right time to do something challenging. My arguments seem valid but deep down, I know they’re excuses.
"The longer the excuse, the less likely it's the truth."
-- Robert Half
"When we know deep down that we’re acting with integrity despite impulses to do otherwise, we feel gates of higher energy and inspiration open inside of us."
-- Dan Millman
I am working hard at being fully honest with myself about who I am. By accepting myself for who I am I can love myself. When I do that I spread that love to others. It is much easier to live in a cycle of love and tolerance than to live in a cycle of hate and intolerance. When I step into that place of self-deception I am forcing love and my Higher Power out of my life. When I do that I'm at risk of picking up that one drink that will kill me.

Everytime I come here I discover spiritual wisdom. You are a beautiful work in progress. :)
Well said Rex. Honesty is so simply and like they say in program, it's simple, not easy.
You are doing well on your journey and I'm so grateful you are here sharing each step along the path with us.
Take gentle care, Meg
