Humilty

I heard a definition for humility that I really liked at my home group meeting this week. It goes like this....humility is not thinking less of myself, but thinking about myself less. I'm sure that isn't new to many of you, but it was new to me. It made a lot of sense. By not thinking less of myself it tells me that it is necessary and appropriate to take care of myself and my needs. The final part of that definition says that after I have met my needs for growth and sustinance that I turn my thoughts and energy to the service of God and others. In theory it sounds so simple.....in reality my ego and impulse control sabatoge this plan on a regular basis. At least now I have a plan, a goal to work towards.
