Befriending Yourself

May I love myself exactly as I am.
May I be happy with things just as they are.
May I love myself exactly as I am.
May I be happy with things just as they are.

Loving-kindness practice is meant to open our hearts, to break through the wall of defenses we have built to protect ourselves from being wounded. It is meant to make us vulnerable, both to our own hurts and the hurts we have inflicted on others. And this softness may lead to regret.

And you know, I do have regrets today about how I hurt some others(especially those created before I found program)and maybe even some resentments about having been hurt. But what I do not have to do is live in that pain of regrets from the past and resist being vulnerable in the future. All I have to do is open my heart and stay under the umbrella of today. Thanks for the reminder Rex.
love you

May I be happy with things just as they are.... I am struggling with that one right now.I asked the Almighty for help and it feels like it got worse. That word vulnerable I want to throw out the window! ...this softness may lead to regret...NO SHIT! Today I will still choose to love the best I can, knowing that all this other will pass.
