Support For my Friend

Today my friend is hurting. I wish I could be there to hold her and to pass the tissues, but I cannot. What I can do is send my love and support. Light the candles and send a few words of wisdom that I hope will bring some comfort.....

You don't get to choose how you're going to die, or when. You can only decide how you're going to live. Now. Joan Baez I feel that my mission is, wherever I am, to express my feeling about the importance of kindness, compassion, and the true sense of brotherhood. I practice these things. It gives me more happiness, more success. If I practiced anger or jealousy or bitterness, no doubt my smile would disappear.
The Dalai Lama

Hold on to what is good even if it is a handful of earth.Hold on to what you believe even if it is a tree which stands by itself.Hold on to what you must do even if it is a long way from here.Hold on to life even when it is easier letting go.Hold on to my hand even when I have gone away from you.- Pueblo Blessing

...when we finally know we are dying, and all other sentient beings are dying with us, we start to have a burning, almost heartbreaking sense of the fragility and preciousness of each moment and each being, and from this can grow a deep, clear, limitless compassion for all beings. by Sogyal Rinpoche:

Albert Camus:
In the depth of winter, I finally learned that there was within me an invincible summer.

For everything there is a season,
And a time for every matter under heaven:
A time to be born,
and a time to die;
A time to plant,
and a time to pluck up what is planted;
A time to kill,
and a time to heal;
A time to break down,
and a time to build up;
A time to weep,
and a time to laugh;
A time to mourn,
and a time to dance;
A time to throw away stones,
and a time to gather stones together;
A time to embrace,
And a time to refrain from embracing;
A time to seek,
and a time to lose;
A time to keep,
and a time to throw away
;A time to tear,
and a time to sew;
A time to keep silence,
and a time to speak;
A time to love,
and a time to hate,
A time for war,
and a time for peace.

Gilda Radner:
I wanted a perfect ending. Now I've learned, the hard way, that some poems don't rhyme, and some stories don't have a clear beginning, middle, and end. Life is about not knowing, having to change, taking the moment and making the best of it, without knowing what's going to happen next. Delicious Ambiguity

Henri Nouwen:
When we honestly ask ourselves which person in our lives means the most us, we often find that it is those who, instead of giving much advice, solutions, or cures, have chosen rather to share our pain and touch our wounds with a gentle and tender hand. The friend who can be silent with us in a moment of despair or confusion, who can stay with us in an hour of grief and bereavement, who can tolerate not knowing, not curing, not healing and face with us the reality of our powerlessness, that is a friend who cares.

I hope you find healing in this loss. They may leave this spiritual plane but they we hold in our hearts are never really gone from us. I love ya Hun and wish we didn't have the miles between us right now.......

Ecclesiastes 3:1-8
